Our Approach

We present informed, gritty content nuanced by opinion on examples of lived, perceived, and ongoing exile and captivity.  Power dynamics in the emotional space is one of the under-examined areas of discipline in the academy; there is no program of study that can be compared to a textbook course of study to prepare the average person on how to live and remain in imbalanced, hostile, or controlling relationships. 

Exile and captivity in their many forms are complicated by constantly shifting values of culture. Some harmful values go unchallenged or undetected for generations, causing further suffering later on for many beloved friends and family. For this reason we need to account for their often unperceived yet detrimental effects. The human heart learns to adapt, or it does not. When it does not, or cannot, we want to hear more.
